A nationally recognised advocate for immigrant rights, Walsh has dedicated her career to helping families navigate the complex legal landscape of U.S. immigration. She is the founder of New Frontier Immigration Law, a former law professor, and has successfully represented clients at all levels of the judicial system, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Speaking ahead of the event, she said: “Immigration reform is not just a legal issue—it’s a human issue. My goal is to challenge perspectives, spark action, and inspire real change that protects and empowers immigrant communities.”
A history of advocacy
Walsh has more than 13 years of legal experience and is known for her bold approach to challenging systemic barriers within U.S. immigration law. Her previous TEDx talk, “Captives Among Us: How U.S. Immigration Law Perpetuates Injustice”, highlighted the struggles faced by immigrants and proposed legal solutions for a more humane system.
In addition to her legal work, she is the founder of Arizona’s only 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to supporting undocumented survivors of human trafficking.
Her speech at TEDx Las Vegas is expected to draw attention to the moral and economic imperatives of comprehensive immigration reform, an issue that remains at the forefront of American politics.
TEDx Las Vegas: A platform for change
TEDx Las Vegas, an independently organised event under the global TED umbrella, will feature a range of speakers from various disciplines, each presenting “ideas worth spreading”. Walsh’s talk is expected to resonate widely, particularly among policymakers, activists, and communities directly affected by immigration policies.
As debates over immigration continue in the United States, Walsh’s message is likely to reignite discussions on the future of immigration policy and the need for a fairer, more just legal framework.
