PortAventura World has launched its 30th-anniversary celebrations with a dynamic event, reflecting on its rich history while unveiling a host of new attractions for the year ahead. The resort, located in Tarragona, Catalonia, has been a leader in the entertainment industry, attracting over 100 million visitors since its opening in 1995.
The anniversary campaign, under the slogan “There are unique journeys that are destined to be remembered,” highlights the resort’s commitment to creating unforgettable experiences. Managing Director Fernando Aldecoa praised PortAventura World’s role as an economic and cultural force in Spain.
“PortAventura World is not just a themed resort; it is a cornerstone of the entertainment industry and a catalyst for local development. For 30 years, we have delivered exceptional experiences and continue to innovate with the same passion that defined our beginning,” said Aldecoa.
Exciting Developments for 2025
To mark this milestone, PortAventura World has announced several new features for 2025. Among the highlights is a new parade featuring floats inspired by the various themed areas of PortAventura Park. Additionally, a new show, A Fascinating Journey, will debut at the Gran Teatre Imperial, offering visitors a unique exploration of the park’s worlds.
Other plans include the expansion of the popular FiestAventura show, which will now incorporate drones, along with updated decorations throughout the resort. Guests can also enjoy exclusive 30th-anniversary merchandise, a refreshed dining experience featuring nostalgic dishes, and a series of special events throughout the year.
A Legacy of Growth and Innovation
Since opening with Spain’s first theme park in 1995, PortAventura World has invested over €1.8 billion, transforming from a single park into a multi-faceted resort. The site now includes three theme parks, a globally recognised convention centre, and ten hotels with over 3,000 rooms.
Significant milestones in the resort’s history include the addition of the iconic Dragon Khan rollercoaster in 1995, the launch of its first hotel in 2002, and the opening of the Caribe Aquatic Park the same year. In 2017, Ferrari Land became the resort’s third theme park, while the Dreams Village accommodation was inaugurated in 2019 and expanded in 2024.
PortAventura World has also embraced sustainability, with its PortAventura Foundation driving social initiatives since 2011. The resort’s commitment to environmental responsibility was further recognised with its B Corp certification in 2022, signifying high standards of social and environmental performance.
Looking Ahead
As PortAventura World celebrates three decades of success, it remains focused on innovation and community impact. With new attractions and a renewed focus on sustainability, the resort aims to continue its legacy of delivering world-class entertainment and driving economic growth in the region.
