The Dubai Games 2025 has concluded with a dramatic finale, as Montreal, Canada, and Colorado, USA, shared the Battle of the Cities title in an unprecedented tie. The event, which brought together teams from across the world, celebrated international collaboration through sport.
Saint Petersburg, Russia, secured third place in the highly competitive contest, which showcased athleticism, endurance, and teamwork. Organisers hailed the competition as a testament to the unifying power of sport, highlighting cities as hubs of creativity and cooperation.
A Global Celebration of Team Sports
The Dubai Games, now in its sixth edition, attracted 244 teams from over 50 cities across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. The event has evolved into a premier team-based sporting challenge, with participants tackling complex obstacle courses and collaborative challenges.
Beyond competition, organisers emphasised the spirit of unity the event fosters. Marwan bin Essa, Director of the Dubai Games, praised this year’s turnout, saying:

The event’s growing prominence is reflected in its expanding prize pool, which exceeded AED 3.35 million this year. Key sponsors, including DP World, DAMAC Group, Emarat, and Dubai Sports Council, played a significant role in supporting its continued success.

The competition featured several key categories, with teams from across the UAE and beyond excelling in various disciplines.
- Battle of the Cities: Montreal and Colorado (joint winners), Saint Petersburg (third place).
- Battle of the Government – Women: UAE Ministry of Education (winners), UAE Ministry of Defence and Dubai Police (runners-up).
- Battle of the Government – Men: UAE Ministry of Defence (winners), Dubai State Security and Abu Dhabi Police (runners-up).
- Battle of the Community: Ajman Team (winners), Ajman Stud and Esaad (runners-up).
Originally known as Gov Games, the Dubai Games has grown into a landmark sporting event, drawing teams from government institutions, local communities, and international cities.
